Acadia Appoints New Board Member, Dr. Patrice A. Harris

On October 26, 2023, Acadia welcomed Patrice A. Harris, M.D., M.A., to its board of directors. Dr. Harris has extensive experience in the healthcare field, holding positions as a private practicing physician, public health director, and patient advocate. Dr. Harris also served on the board of trustees of the American Psychiatric Association (APA), was an APA delegate to the American Medical Association (AMA), served as chair of the AMA’s opioid task force, and was the first African American woman to hold the position of AMA president. Dr. Harris’ expertise and wealth of experience will support Acadia’s strategic growth as we aim to meet the behavioral healthcare needs of individuals throughout the country.
