River Place Behavioral Health

Acadia partnered with Ochsner Health System in LaPlace, Louisiana, to consolidate and expand Ochsner’s behavioral health services in the greater New Orleans area. Acadia worked to redesign and convert an Ochsner long-term acute care facility into a new 82-bed behavioral health hospital.

River Place Behavioral Health provides comprehensive inpatient mental health services for adults age 18 and older. The center also serves as a regional referral facility for Ochsner’s multi-city catchment area.

“The strategic partnership between Ochsner and Acadia Healthcare provides critically needed behavioral health services to the River Parishes. Repurposing the former site of River Parishes Hospital to the current state-of-the-art River Place Behavioral Health was an innovative use of existing resources to create a collaborative regional referral center that provides vital assistance to patients in need of substance abuse and mental health treatment.” – Stephen Robinson, chief executive officer of Ochsner Medical Center-Kenner
